Elodie Games is an early stage gaming startup looking for versatile artists who have experience in 2D/3D character and environment game development. Your goal is to bring characters, creatures, environments, and an entire world to life to delight players across the globe. We are looking for artists whose portfolios express originality, style, and exceptional craftsmanship. They should also reflect a solid understanding of how art integrates with gameplay: visual hierarchy, color theory, shape language, and overall readability.

COVID-19 Hiring Update:

We've transitioned to a work-from-home model and we're continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position but as conditions improve we intend on returning to our beautiful office in sunny Venice, CA.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other artists, designers and engineers to bring visually compelling content to life
  • Engage with the team’s collective conversations and decisions making process to ensure alignment and delivery of exciting player experiences
  • Generate ideas using 2D/3D work to communicate those ideas to the team
  • Work with a lead artist or art director in developing a distinct and cohesive modeling and texturing style for in-game assets
  • Sculpt detailed high-poly models and create efficient low-poly meshes for environments, characters, creatures, and weapons
  • Create high-quality textures and author materials
  • Ensure that in-game art assets support both gameplay and performance
  • Self-managing while also aware of the needs and requirements of those around you
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of 3D packages such as ZBrush, Maya or 3DS Max, Substance Painter, Marmoset, and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional understanding of human/creature anatomy, color theory, values, form, shape language and silhouette
  • Self-motivated, humble, excellent communications skills, and a player-focused attitude
  • Professional experience developing games
  • Work experience with Unreal, Unity, or other modern game engine
  • Thinks of themselves as a game developer first, and an artist second
  • A personal excitement passion for games
  • Legally able to work in the US
